Nikonos 15mm lens on Nauticam NA-NEX5 housing for Underwater Model Shots at Photokina 2010

As you may be well aware, Photokina, the Worldˇ¦s largest photo and imaging show, took place in late September this year. Like all previous years, the show filled the normally peaceful Köln with an atmosphere of excitement from keen Photographers and photographic equipment manufacturers all around the World, and of course ˇV inevitably - hotel rate inflations and traffic jam within 10km from the city.

It was the second time that the Photokina organizers decided to dedicate an area for the fast-expanding underwater photographic industry. The Underwater Imaging World was located in Hall 3.1 this year, surrounding the central area were the booths of numerous underwater photographic equipment manufacturers.

The enormous testing and diving pool is unmistakable as you walk into the Underwater Imaging World; this pool was actually converted from a big truck, with a water tank (2M X 2M X 8M) sitting on top of the truck, and had a number of windows on both sides.

What attracted the large crowd of people to gather around the pool was a very beautiful German model, Anne Aselmann, enthusiastically posing in the tank, for the all geared-up underwater photographer, Marc Hillesheim of www.liquidnation.de. The underwater model shooting demonstrations took place around 3 to 4 times a day; Marc also very kindly demonstrated underwater photographic equipment from various manufacturers.

Nauticam was proud to offer our NA-NEX5 housing with the famous Nikonos 15mm wide angle lens for the demonstration. Moreover, Edward volunteered to do the shooting himself!
